08/25/2024 Senior Center Performance

Updated: May 23

Authored by Elena Chen

We were so excited to come back to the Senior Center again. We arrived an hour early for our performance to set up the piano and speakers, and again, the audience came into the lobby around 20 minutes early. Some audience members were returning ones from our previous show, recognizing and greeting us, and some were new ones.

This time, a talented 10 year old singer, Ryan, performed with us, singing the song Lemon Tree. He was applauded loudly as he finished the song, and the seniors enjoyed it very much.

We learned to speak louder from our last visit so that everyone could hear us, and it seemed that everybody could understand what we were saying, and those who might not have been able to enjoyed our performances nevertheless.

After our performance, we answered any question the seniors had, such as how old we were, and the next time we would come.

We then hosted a game of Bingo, which almost all the seniors came to. It was a lively experience, and we played a few different versions. While playing, we also continued answering any questions that came up.

Overall, it was another fun and rewarding experience for everyone. We learned some more senior's names, and we all enjoyed ourselves. One senior asked if we could play the Flight of the Bumblebee, because they liked it, and we are working to being able to perform it sometime soon.

We all look forward to returning to this senior home to perform again, and in the meantime, we will keep practicing the pieces that we will eventually show our audience.
