Today, we held activities down stairs, where we did fun arts and crafts with the seniors. There were 10 folks participating, who all had a blast.

We made simple dogs and cats out of paper plates, where we glued on ears, a nose, googly eyes and even drew a happy face. Each senior made both a dog, and a cat, and also named their creations. After finishing the crafts, the seniors sat back chatting happily, enjoying the food, and we all took pictures.

One lady specifically, Mary, shared stories about when she was young, voicing her love for music, and more importantly, singing. Although she is 99 years old, she stood up firm on her two legs and sang us several songs dating back to her childhood. It was amazing to experience her singing with so much passion and with such a great voice. Mary was just one of the wonderful seniors that we encountered, but she serves as a reminder that age is just a number, and it is never too late to chase your dreams.
